Quote 1:"Stupid, he thought. I was stupid to think I could just come out here and get inside the plane. Nothing is that easy. Not out here, not in this place. Nothing is easy."(pg.62, chapter 18) -Brians tries to swim and take out the survival pack that is in the plane, burried in lake. When he had thougth about this idea, he had built a raft to row to center of the lake where the plane was burried. He thought the plane was open and he can just enter and get the survival pack, so he started cursing himself on his situation when he realized while swimming in the murky water that there would be no opeing to enter the plane and he would have to cut his way through to enter the plane with the help of his hatchet. This reinforces that life is not easy and one has to overcome many challenges at every step.

However,Brian has learnt to control his emotions while struggling for his life in the wilderness.
